چکیده

PREVIOUS papers1 in this series have dealt with (a) the evaluation of radial wavefunctions, phase shifts, reduced phases, and differential elastic cross sections for scattering by a L-J (12, 6) potential; (b) the resulting velocity dependence of the differential and total scattering cross sections, with attention given to the Jeffreys-Born OB) approximation for the higher-order phases; (c) the applicability of the semiclassical equivalence principle to the calculation of the phase shifts from the classical deflection function; and (d) an analysis of the undulatory velocity dependence of the total cross section in terms of bound states. The present paper presents an explicit treatment of the velocity dependence of the JB phases and the total elastic scattering cross sections in the highvelocity region (e.g., in the e V -energy range) for molecules interacting according to the L-J (n, 6) and exp-6(a) potentials. A criterion is given for estimating

Utilization of electron spin resonance spectroscopy for observation of in vivo response to fungicides.

Electron spin resonance studies of the in vivo response to fungicides (chloranil and thiram) by Aspergillus niger of different ages are described. The spores possessed a natural free radical signal which grew rapidly upon application of chloranil. Thiram, on the other hand, produced weak changes in the free radical region but easily detectable changes at lower fields, indicating involvement of ...

An Exceptionally Facile Two-Step Structural Isomerization and Detoxication via a Water-Assisted Double Lossen Rearrangement

N-hydroxyphthalimide (NHPI), which is best known as an organocatalyst for efficient C-H activation, has been found to be oxidized by quinoid compounds to its corresponding catalytically active nitroxide-radical. Here, we found that NHPI can be isomerized into isatoic anhydride by an unusually facile two-step method using tetrachloro-1,4-benzoquinone (TCBQ, p-chloranil), accompanied by a two-ste...

Investigating the Effects of Molecular Oxygen Impurity on the Quadrupole Coupling Constants of Boron Nitride Nanotubes: Computational Studies

Density functional theory (DFT) calculations have been performed to investigating the effects of themolecular oxygen impurity on the quadrupole coupling constant (Qcc) parameters of armchair and zigzagboron nitride nanotubes (BNNTs). Optimization processes have been performed to relax the original andimpure structures of the investigated BNNTs. Afterwards, the Qcc parameters have been evaluated...

Molecular mechanism for metal-independent production of hydroxyl radicals by hydrogen peroxide and halogenated quinones.

We have shown previously that hydroxyl radicals (HO*) can be produced by H2O2 and halogenated quinones, independent of transition metal ions; however, the underlying molecular mechanism is still unclear. In the present study, using the electron spin resonance secondary radical spin-trapping method, we found that tetrachloro-1,4-benzoquinone (TCBQ), but not its corresponding semiquinone anion ra...

Time-resolved photoelectron imaging of the chloranil radical anion: ultrafast relaxation of electronically excited electron acceptor states.

The spectroscopy and dynamics of near-threshold excited states of the isolated chloranil radical anion are investigated using photoelectron imaging. The photoelectron images taken at 480 nm clearly indicate resonance-enhanced photodetachment via a bound electronic excited state. Time-resolved photoelectron imaging reveals that the excited state rapidly decays on a timescale of 130 fs via intern...
